What are your goals?
- Do you want to lose weight?
- Do you want to get in better shape?
- Do you want to improve your self-confidence?
- Do you want to learn self-defense?
- Do you want to train for competition?
We are here to help you meet your goals with fun, exciting, effective programs. Our programs blend techniques from Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and wrestling as well as body weight and flexibility exercises. Regardless of which classes you choose to attend, they are all centered around the first two principles of Judo to ensure a safe, productive training environment.
The first principle of Judo is “Seiryoku-Zenyo“. The Kodokan Judo Institute translates it as “maximum efficient use of mind and body”. At Bushido and Chivalry, you will learn to embody this principle in all you do. Whether your goal is to lose weight, get in better shape, improve your self-confidence, learn self-defense, or train for competition; we will teach you how to achieve your goal using maximum efficiency with minimum effort. This is not to say you will never do anything difficult, but rather, you will be on the best path to achieve your goals. To improve, you must challenge yourself. You must push yourself. And, you must do so in a way that keeps you moving in the right direction. We are here to help guide you along your path.
The second principle of Judo is “Jita-Kyoei“. The Kodokan Judo Institute translates it as “mutual prosperity for self and others”. One of Jigoro Kano’s goals when he founded Judo was to “create fine citizens through physical education”. This is achieved through the second principle of Judo, and is embodied in the Samurai code of honor, bushido, as well as the knights code of honor, chivalry. This is were our name comes from. At Bushido and Chivalry we will help you train your mind as well as your body. We will help you strengthen your honor, integrity, and courage. This in turn will help you achieve the goals you set for yourself in all you do.
